Attention Rice Volunteers!
Another reminder that any hours worked at home must be sent to Darla Andrews, Volunteer Hours Coordinator. Please do not wait until the end of the year as all hours need to be entered into the new Raptor system so that the appropriate reports can be generated. Please e-mail all extra hours to darla.andrews@sbcglobal.net Send information for Jan-April. Thanks for your help!
2008-2009 School Year Schedule pick-up:
Grade 6 - August 14 - Between 9:00 and 12:00
Grade 7 - August 14 - Between 1:00 and 4:00
Grade 8 - August 15 - Between 9:00 and 12:00
Watch for summer packets with information and forms.
Counselors will return August 6 and will be enrolling new students August 7, 8, and 10. An appointment is needed. All current 5th, 6th, and 7th graders are already enrolled for next year.
Alternate Schedule Pick Up: If you are not able to attend the Schedule Pick Up as scheduled by the district, Rice has added an additional schedule pick up date.
Alternate Schedule Pick Up is August 21, between 9:00 & 11:00, in the Rice cafeteria. Students will be able to pick up their schedule, get their locker and combination, and find their classes and locker. They may also put items in their locker. Teachers will not be available at this time to meet or talk with.
If you are not able to come to Schedule Pick Up on the Alternate Schedule Pick Up, your child may pick up his or her schedule before school on the first day of school, August 25, in the cafeteria. Please email your counselor if you have any questions.
August 25th is the first day of school for students.
Thanks For BoxTop Contributions
Thanks to everyone for sending in Box Tops. Rice PTA just received a check for $347 from the spring BoxTop collection. Please remember to continue saving BoxTops and labels throughout the summer--the labels add up!
