Generally, students are given one school day for each day they are absent to make up missed assignments. Parents may request homework assignments for students absent 3 or more consecutive school days by calling the office Before 10:00 a.m. on the 3rd day of absence. This homework is due the day the student returns to school. Make-up work may not be requested in advance, unless the student is absent 3 or more consecutive days.
Absences such as vacations and trips (except those excused by the principal for unusual circumstances), babysitting, working, non-school-sponsored athletic events and programs shall be considered unexcused. In order for a student to make up and receive credit for work assigned during an unexcused absence, the student must submit one week in advance a written notification of the planned absence to the principal. Forms for this are available in the front office. When no prior notification is given, the student shall receive a zero for all work assigned during the absence.
