PTA triangle Volunteer Sign-Up Form

Rice Middle School would not be the wonderful place of learning without its volunteers. Please take a look at the volunteer opportunities below, fill out the form, and select the opportunities that interest you. Fields marked with asterisk * are required.

  • All volunteers must have a current background check on file each school year.
  • The time volunteers give to Rice Middle School is tracked by using the visitor's sign-in sheet in the front office. Please be sure to sign "In" and "Out" each time you volunteer. If you volunteer at home, please email the hours worked to Darla Andrews: darla.andrews@sbcglobal.net.

6th Grade Volunteer: Help the teachers as needed, chaperone field trips, or work with students on special projects.
7th grade Volunteer: Help the teachers as needed, chaperone field trips, or work with students on special projects.
8th Grade Volunteer: Help the teachers as needed, chaperone field trips, or work with students on special projects.
6th Grade Lunch Bunch: Help provide special treats (desserts, salads, or other goodies) during the year for the 6th grade team of teachers.
7th Grade Lunch Bunch: Help provide special treats (desserts, salads, or other goodies) during the year for the 7th grade team of teachers.
8th Grade Lunch Bunch: Help provide special treats (desserts, salads, or other goodies) during the year for the 8th grade team of teachers.
Candy Sales Volunteer: Work shifts at the after-school candy sales table on Fridays. Reports to the Candy Sales Chairman.
Clinic Volunteer: On the nurses call list. Help the nurse when students take health screenings.
Copy Volunteers: Help staff/office with copy needs. Schedules are flexible.
Hardship Committee: Work with the Hardship Chairman to provide meals for families who are dealing with a crisis.
Hospitality Committee: Assists Hospitality Chairman in set-up, serving, and/or clean-up at various school and teacher events.
Library Volunteers: Assist the librarian as needed. Reports to the Library Coordinator.
School Store Volunteer: Work morning shifts at the school store where students purchase school supplies.
Science Fair Judges: Help judge the Science Fair in January (Backgrounds or interest in science, engineering, or psychology are prefered.
Student Socials Chaperones: chaperone the student socials. Please indicate in "Comment" the grade level you wish to volunteer for.
Student Social Committee: Work with Social Chairman to plan the student socials.
Youth Protection Committee: Assist Youth Protection chairman with Red Ribbon Week.
8th Grade Celebration Committee: Work with 8th grade Celebration Chairman to plan the end-of-year celebration.
